Columbus Engagement Session // Lesley and Jason

Lesley and Jason’s engagement session was booked for the beginning of July, which turned out to be just a couple days after a major storm left most of Columbus without power. The forecast told us the weather was going to cooperate the day of the shoot so we went ahead with our outdoors-y plans. Things started off great; it was beautiful and sunny. But, apparently all that changed while we were getting some shots inside Bernie’s. We returned outside to very different weather, so we went to wait out the storm and snap some pics in the power-outage-having, candle lit, Ace of Cups. After a little while of studying the radar, Jason and Lesley decided the weather wasn’t going to let up, so we rescheduled our Grange Audubon Park plans for a drier, more pleasant evening. I had such a great time with these two and can’t wait to shoot their outdoor wedding this month! And if it does rain, I say Bring It On! I’ll be covered.

Columbus Engagement Session // Elena and Bryan

Elena and Bryan were very brave. They agreed to meet me at 6 in the morning to take some pictures for their engagement shoot. That’s a pretty early wake up call to have to deal with on a weekend, but I’m so glad they did. The light was amazing, and we were able to get indoors before we felt the full effects of Columbus’s record heat wave.
90 degrees by 10am, no thanks! My hair would melt off.

Columbus Engagement Session // Jim and Bonnie

ZK: With Jim and Bonnie’s wedding coming up in November, they decided to use this unseasonably nice weather for an engagement session shoot at some of their favorite spots around Columbus.

CH: Yeah, they definitely picked a great time for some outdoor scenery. They came to us with a great idea to get some pajama clad shots of them enjoying the morning on their porch in Clintonville, and then on to Schiller Park in German Village for some quality play time with Swenson.
