Hawaii // 2014

ALOHA!

I normally don’t make personal posts on here, but I thought I’d change things up a little and share some images that involved 0 clients. Recently, I was fortunate enough to travel to Hawaii with 3 of my closest friends. It was really the perfect storm of availability for all four of us. It’s rare that we can all make out to see each other in the same evening so the idea that all of us could clear our schedules for 10 straight days was so far fetched that I think we’re all still unsure if it actually happened.

I decided I wasn’t going to take my regular photo gear along and instead went with a more portable/worry free option. I only used a small camera I could carry with me (the Fuji X100s, nerds.) and my iphone. A mix of images from those two cameras are below. It worked out perfectly. It was nice not lugging a bunch of gear around.
Hawaii was beyond what I imagined it would be; I don’t have the words to describe it. If you have the opportunity, go.

Now, time to start a busy photo season! More posts soon!
Mahalo!

“IT’S GONNA BE A GREAT YEAR.” – LEWIS SKOLNICK

HERE IT IS – A selection of some of my favorite photos from the past year. I shot more weddings in 2013 than any other year, by far. For most of them, I was second shooting with other local, and not so local, photographers. Jessica Miller IngrahamHillary FergusonAyesha AhmadChris AramMike StemplerClaire from RouxbyMac Wentz, and Kimberly Potterf – I consider myself extremely lucky to have worked with such an incredibly talented and inspiring group of photographers, so thanks so much to all of you! And a big thank you to all of my clients of 2013! I’ve booked amazing clients for the upcoming year so I’m really looking forward to what 2014 brings!

Happy New Year, everyone!

KITTLE HOUSE WEDDING

Claire and Josh were married in a small church in Lancaster Ohio, not far from Claire’s parent’s house, which was where they were having their reception. Ralph and Reda, Claire’s parents, bought the house in less than ideal shape, and with the help of their family over the next few decades, restored it to the extraordinary home I saw on the wedding day. It was designated the historic landmark Pugh-Kittle House in 1983 and made for a beautiful and significant setting for Claire and Josh’s laid back reception. I’d never, in person, seen a groom rock a powder blue tux until this wedding; unbelievable! Thanks so much to Josh and Claire, Ralph and Reda, and the Dixons, for making me feel like such a welcomed guest and asking me to document this beautiful wedding! I’m so thankful for clients like this.
